Preparations

To use the Continuous Data Protection (CDP) service, you need to finish the following preparations:
  • Make sure that you have upgraded to the latest version of ZStack Cloud Private Cloud, and installed the Plus License of Continuous Data Protection (CDP).
  • Make sure that you have installed the latest version of Libvirt, QEMU, and Kernel:
    • Libvirt: 4.9.0-28.g214d823.el7, or later versions.
    • QEMU: 4.2.0-475.g675e4a8.el7, or later versions.
    • Kernel: 3.10.0-957.27.8.1.ga791a72.el7, or later versions.
    Note: If you are upgrading with an older version, contact the official technical support to upgrade the Libvirt, QEMU, and Kernel to the official version.
  • Make sure that you have an existing VM instance with no backup job created.
  • Make sure that you have prepared a storage server in local data center as the local backup server, and the storage server is not reused as a host.
  • Make sure that you have planned a storage network and a backup network. We recommend that you use at least 10 Gigabit NICs for your backup network.
